You'll need to think about which color gem you'd like. The three are. Red, Yellow, and Green.
Red's do as they are told, all the time, every time, they do not ask what they can do, they get told what they can do, when they can do it, and who they can do it with.
Yellow's ask if they can do something, every time, all the time.
Green's can come and go, and do as they please in between. But when called for, or in the dungeons, they're treated as though they are red's.
